# Intelligent Recap

> The AI-powered recap of a Teams meeting, with notes, follow-up tasks and timeline markers, available with Teams Premium or a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence.

**Intelligent Recap turns a transcribed Teams meeting into something you can catch up on.** After the meeting, you open the Recap tab in the meeting chat to find AI-generated notes and follow-up tasks, plus markers showing when your name came up, who spoke when and which topics were covered. Copilot can also draft notes, list your action items or write a follow-up email, citing the transcript and chat.

The fuller experience needs **Teams Premium or a Copilot licence**, so a colleague on another plan may see a simpler recap of the same meeting. The meeting must be transcribed, and some markers also need a recording. Copilot does not work in meetings hosted outside your organisation, so for sensitive meetings decide deliberately whether transcription stays on.

## At work

A project manager who was double-booked opens the Recap tab afterwards, asks for the action items assigned to her and clicks through to the moment a deadline was agreed.

## Often confused with

A meeting transcript. The transcript is the raw word-for-word record; Intelligent Recap is the summary, tasks and markers [Copilot](/glossary#copilot) builds on top of it.
